My child would never do that. I taught him not to go against a green light.
As someone who (used to ) and currently cycles, and has been involved in several accidents, this type of behavior leaves me shaking my head and wondering where the seichel is. Plus the lack of lights !!
Refuah sheleima, and yes, always lights front and back – even by day, as the sun can be shining in driver’s eyes, or it can be cloudy etc. Also, by night, is very good idea to wear reflector; adds visibility. And crossing safely is the basics!!!
Perhaps you can get an e-bike which you don’t have to pedal — if that’s too hard for you, so you can still get the feeling of biking (and perhaps beat the traffic!)
Bikes in the road are like cars they must follow all traffic laws, they are only pedestrians if they walk their bike across the road in the crosswalk.
