Video surveillance posted on TLS showing a man using counterfeit money at the Fishing Line last month, helped police identify and apprehend the suspect, the proprietors of Fishing Line tell TLS.“Thanks to The Lakewood Scoop, Howell Police apprehended the counterfeiter,” one  of the proprietors said. “He is now in police custody. We were told by police that the Scoop showing the surveillance video, helped them identify the man.”

The video shows the suspect walking into the shop at the Grebow Shopping Center, removing a soda from the refrigerator and walking up to the counter to pay. After inspecting the bill with a device at a neighboring store, and confirming it was indeed counterfeit, the owners phoned police.
