VIDEO: The Brick Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying suspects involved in a violent road rage incident which ended with one party hospitalized with a stab wound.
On August 8, officers were dispatched to the area of Route 88 and Jack Martin Boulevard for a report of a fight between the occupants of two vehicles.
Upon arrival to the area, officers spoke to the victim who had been operating a Black Jeep Wrangler. The victim (39 year old white male, Toms River, NJ) stated that he had been in a fight with suspects who were operating an Acura sedan. The Acura was described as being dark in color, with tinted windows and a New York registration.
The incident began as the vehicles were travelling west on Route 88 in Point Pleasant towards Brick. The victim stated that the driver of Acura was yelling at him and his family while driving aggressively. This continued until the vehicles reached the intersection of Route 88 and Barb Lane.
At this location the operator of the Acura exited his vehicle and approached the victim’s vehicle. The victim then exited his vehicle and a fight ensued on the side of the road, initially between the drivers of both vehicles. The driver of the Acura was then joined by the two other occupants of the Acura. During the fight, the driver of the Jeep was stabbed with what was described as a small knife. The occupants of the Acura then fled back to their vehicle and left the area on Jack Martin Boulevard towards Route 70. The victim then lost sight of the Acura.
The victim was treated and released from Ocean Medical Center for lacerations to his head and elbow.
Detectives Timothy McCarthy and Mark Byrne were able to recover a short video clip which was taken by a passerby. The clip shows the end of the altercation leading up to the suspect’s running back to their vehicle.
The Brick Township Police is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects (two black males and one black female) who are shown in the video wearing light colored shirts. If you believe you may have seen the suspect vehicle, or recognize anyone else involved, you are asked to contact Det. Timothy McCarthy in the Brick Township Police Detective Bureau at 732-262-1169. You can also contact the Brick Township Police directly at 732-262-1100.

Nothing new. I bet there won’t be any protesting here, but god forbid its white against black cuz all hell breaks loose and people want to start a raiot…
its not about black or white, it’s about people who grew up without the same opportunities that most of us grew up with and ultimately all ending up in jail because they never knew any other way to live. This is a much bigger picture than just a minor stabbing! This country needs to start helping these poor souls get out this rut and give them the same chances everyone else is given!
None is entitled to any opportunities.it’s the right to live of the sweat of your own brow add long as you can get a job that you can subsist on your a free man outs your obligation to keep the job.very simple and fair too
