VIDEO: Rav Gershon Edelstein ZT”L on Mesivta Acceptance: Putting Pressure to Get into Specific Yeshiva May Not Benefit Your Son

Translattion: Now there is an issue, people make a mistake at this time of the year when they finish yeshiva ketana, and they are accepted to a yeshiva gedolah, to begin in Elul a new zman. And as far as yeshivos go, each and every person tries to decide which yeshiva he wants to go to and he invests effort that they should accept him, he wants to go here or there, he chooses, he decides, and if a top yeshiva did not accept him, he then tries very hard. The parents try, they beg for him that this yeshiva should accept him, and they do not know that whatever Hashem does… everything is in the hands of Hashem and whatever Hashem does is for the good, where they do want him that is where he will be matzliach and where they do not want him if he does get in through pull he will not be matzliach. This is tried and tested and this is the fact, whatever Hashem does is for the good and everything is in the Hands of Hashem. And if it is in the Hands of Hashem, then everything will work out for the good, for his own good that he should be matzliach where they want him. And where they do not want him that is because it is not for his good, and if he puts pressure for something that is not for his good, then he will lose out from that.

Yeshiva Ketana is Mesivta. Yeshiva Gedolah is Bais Medrash. (Cheder or Talmud Torah is elementary school)
Please change the headline. He is talking about acceptance to Bais Medrash.

in EY high school is called yeshiva ketana and what they call Bais Medrash in the US is called yehisva gedola, that is why R Gershon ZTL used those terms.
