VIDEOS: One in custody after setting fire to tent in Lakewood, causing explosions

One person is in custody this evening after allegedly causing propane explosions, which ignited trees in Lakewood.

The incident happened shortly before 7:00 PM at the intersection of Hurley Avenue and Cedarbridge Avenue.

Witnesses heard multiple explosions coming from the forest behind the gas station, and then noticed trees on fire (see video).

The fire department arrived and extinguish the fire, and a person of interest was taken into custody.

Police tell TLS they are investigating the incident as arson after a woman allegedly set a tent on fire.

The Ocean County Prosecutor‘s Office is investigating.

  1. Until the suspect declares that it is a woman, it cannot be called that. Neither the police-persons, nor the reporters are qualified biologists.
    Just because some physician assigned a gender at birth ….. you know the rest.
    Besides, until and through the trial, this information could change back and forth multiple times, depending on the day and convenience.
