VIDEO: Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-Hudson) and Assembly members Gary S. Schaer (D-Passaic) and Gordon M. Johnson (D-Bergen)held a news conference Wednesday with advocacy groups in which the lawmakers voiced support for providing undocumented New Jersey students with state tuition aid and announced the introduction of legislation to do the same.
Under current New Jersey law, undocumented students who meet certain requirements are eligible for the in-state tuition rate, but not state financial aid. The fiscal year 2015 budget approved by the Legislature included a provision to extend state financial aid assistance to undocumented students, but it was line item vetoed out by the governor. The members’ legislation would make undocumented students who are eligible for in-state tuition also eligible for state financial aid. [TLS]
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME !!! there is not enough money for the kids that are born and raised here .. this guy acts like the money is his to give … I have 7 children 2 went to college and they paid there own way….
lets keep rewarding people for breaking the law.. So lets get this straight my daughter who was born here grew up here and goes to school here for her entire life will be competing for a limited amount of financial aid against a illegal immigrant ? sounds perfectly fair to me.. are you kidding me with this (moderated)
They are here illegally; their presence here is the result of a criminal act.
But let’s face reality. They are here to stay. We are not going to see a roundup and mass deportation of all illegals.
I believe that although they do not deserve it, as לא יהא חוטא נשכר, it is in the best interest of New Jersey citizens that the illegals be given an opportunity to make something of themselves and contribute to society. There is not much use to the community to have them all below the poverty line, using our public facilities (think emergency rooms for routine health care) and not paying income taxes.
So I hold my nose with one hand and support this message with the other.
THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!!! what about us the LEGAL citizens of this country we just got our bussing taken from us & these ilegals are gonna get free tuition. These elected officials do nothing for the taxpayers but do everything for the iligals that broke our laws. This make no sense at all
This country is done. Toast. Kaput. It was a marvelous medina when it was a legitimiate state that sought to take care of its borders, citizens and economy however the last 6 years of a radical government at every level has turned the greatest country in history into a cesspool. We are drowning in every category….
So long america… You will be missed, dearly!
they have money for illegals but not for bussing for us hard working tax payers…
lets get real
They are here to stay…so let them pay taxes like the rest of us.
What is an “undocumented” student? Who forgot to write up their documents?
This, I hope, is not to be confused with illegal aliens who come here not abiding by the laws the registered aliens have to abide by. Illegal, by the way, means against the law.
I wonder how much of my difficult-to-pay- and ever-rising property taxes is due to someone “undocumented”? Its not fair to me.
America should serve the benefit the citizens of America and not the citizens of other countries.
The undocumented, are here illegally
They are supported by the american tax dollars, we educate them, give them state health benefit, food,
Now you telling us as americans
Step to the rear of the line!
Will. never vote democrats ever again in my life!!

its okay when the “illegals” are cleaning your homes, building your homes.. you hire then without licenses to drive. where does “legal” come in the picture. Are you Native Americans ? If an Israeli is born in Mexico is he a citizen or a Mexican we are all born in America but that doesn’t make us an American. Its your blood and you Nationality that makes you what you are. so unless you’re not a Native American you are NOT an American. We have rights to live here because we were born here but it doesnt make us a legit American.
