The Police Unity Tour – the annual ride for those who died in the line of duty – kicked off today, and passed through Lakewood.

Thousands of officers from across the nation take part in the Police Unity Tour, which is a four-day bicycle ride which culminates at the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington DC.

The goal of the unity tour is to help support the families of law enforcement officers that have died in the line of duty, as well as raise money for the National Law Enforcement Memorial.
