Let me just say that the light by first and clifton gotta be the most unnecessary light that’s ever been put up. At least coordinate it with the other lights. And when it turns green noone could go because the other light is red so people end up in the intersection.
Wow! If you see cars ahead of you aren’t moving, don’t drive into the intersection! Because guess what? The light might turn yellow and then red and you’ll look a little foolish sitting in the middle with no place to go.
And here’s a little tip as well, you’ll notice the walking sign will start blinking and counting down from ten, that’s your clue not to pull into the intersection.
Too many times I’ve see this exact same thing.
In NYC you get a massive fine and points for doing that. ‘Don’t block the box’. You can’t enter an intersection if you can’t drive all the way through it. Classic gridlock.

What does that mean
And if you don’t enter the intersection then the person behind you starts honking. As if you are doing something wrong!! People have to learn the laws and some manners!

If you don’t drive like an inconsiderate person you won’t get anywhere!! You will just sit there watching lights change colors…the light on 88 is basically synced with first Street – so as soon as the cars finally move up on Clifton the light changes to red and all the cars on first Street fill up the space on Clifton.. hence you miss another light… Sorry to break it to you but this is how you have to drive in an overbuilt, congested, clogged town!
I think The Lakewood Scoop should be renamed to Lakewood Group Therapy for everyone to vent and send in videos when people don’t like someone else’s driving.
If you look in the picture, there are signs posted ” Do not block intersection”
And yes, police can ticket for this.
But, they won’t !!!

This is common all over town. Intersection of Clifton and county line every night is like this as well as forest and county line. Bring in the troopers, at least they will ticket them.
I totally get the frustration of missing yet another light and don’t judge any of those drivers who are probably otherwise courteous and law abiding drivers. That being said, please be considerate of other drivers who are under the same pressure as you. Do not block intersections and always drive safely. And please don’t honk cars just for not being aggressive enough for your taste.
