Moishy, a young man from Lakewood who turned 17 this week, is bravely battling a serious illness. In honor of his birthday, Misameach and the Lakewood Township joined forces to provide Moishy with a day that he would never forget.
The scene was set at the municipal building on Third Street, where Mayor Menashe Miller and other township officials gave Moishy an exclusive tour of a tour of Town Hall and the Police Department. In a grand ceremony, Moishy was then inaugurated Mayor of the Day and was granted the power to make decisions for Lakewood act in the role of Mayor. His first action as mayor was to present a plaque to Misameach, thanking them for the incomparable work they do for all of Lakewood’s cholim and their families.
His birthday culminated with a beautiful celebration, attended by Moishy’s family, many township officials and police officers, including Captain Greg Meyer and Captain Tommy Langenberger. Lively music and dancing with famed singer Dovid Gabay added to the aura of celebration, along with a juggling show, refreshments, a birthday cake and more.
The joyous and poignant event truly touched the hearts of everyone there, but none more than the star of the show, Moishy.
