As first reported on TLS Status, a Lakewood Police officer was luckily not seriously injured during an assault in downtown Lakewood this morning.
Shortly after 11:00 AM, police received a call about an out-of-control person on Rt. 88, and upon arrival located a female throwing rocks at pedestrians, including at the vehicle of an LCSW member who was trying to assist.
As police attempted to detain the woman, she used an object to cut the officer in his neck.
“The officer was luckily not badly injured,” Police Chief Greg Meyer told TLS. “The officer was transported to MMCSC for treatment and is expected to be released soon.”
The suspect was taken into custody.
“It just comes to show how any call can turn dangerous, and always allow police to handle such situations,” the Chief added.

May the Almighty send to this Police Officer a speedy recovery.
May the Almighty send to the Officer and his family and the Lakewood Police Force lots of good health, lots of success and lots of happiness.
