VIDEO: A patient was extricated from a vehicle following an accident late Sunday night at the intersection of Route 88 and New Hampshire Avenue.
The crash occurred at about 10:45 PM when one of the vehicles reportedly ran a red light.
Multiple members from Hatzolah, Lakewood First Aid, EMS and Monoc responded to the scene.
The passenger of the beige vehicle was in and out of consciousness, officials say, and needed to be extricated from the vehicle due to the extent of damage to the car’s door.
The passenger, and the driver of the same vehicle, were transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center. Injuries were not as serious as initially believed, an official said.
The occupants of the other vehicle were not injured, an official said.
Traffic & Safety division officers responded to the scene for the investigation. [TLS]
