VIDEO & PHOTOS: Over six hundred men, women and children of the Misameach family enjoyed an action-packed mid-Winter event today.
The event at Lake Terrace hall kicked off with dinner at 4:30 PM, after the which the children and families enjoyed games, booths, inflatable rides, nosh and more.
One spectacular activity, was watching a remote-controlled car be driven around a 150 foot man-made roller coaster which spanned from one side of the hall to the other. The coaster was designed by Meir Kolko of the Tri-State Prop Shop, and took about two weeks and 20 volunteers to construct.
Before sitting down to watch the shows, Congressman Chris Smith and Mayor Albert Akerman presented a plaque to the founder of Misameach, Lipa Schwartz, for his dedication and efforts in bringing smiles to thousands of patients and their families throughout the year.
Following the presentation by the Congressman, who was brought in by the NJCA, the kids were in for their first of 2 exciting planned events. A K-9 show.
Two officers from the Transit Police K-9 Units, gave a 20 minute demonstration of the world of the K-9, including a live presentation of a the dog officer detecting a special towel, which it wouldn’t leave go of. (See video of officer spinning around the dog in the air). The K-9 show was also arranged by the NJCA.
Following the K-9 show, the attendees enjoyed an exciting show by the Chicago Boyz acrobats, and a live concert by renowned singers Dovid Gabay and Benny Friedman.
The event lasted about five hours.
Misameach is a non-profit volunteer organization which provides music and other forms of entertainment for sick patients and their families in their homes and in hospitals throughout the tri-state area. TLS.

The event was really phenomenal! I am amazed how professional everything was. The beautiful setup tables, the delicious food, the blowup stuff, the acrobats, jugglers, clowns, etc. The wonderful singers (Dovid, Gabay, Benny Friedman, Mendy Jacobson and others).

The roller coaster was really an unbelievable sight, but WHAT do you mean when you say “a 150 foot man-made roller coaster”, what other kind are there (not “man-made???)???

I was there. It was ah. May. Zing. Thanx, LIPA for putting together this super event. As a music lover, I have to give kudos to the band, Yossi “Yosi” Shtendig, yisrael Stein, Moshe schwartz, Meir Rosenbaum, Srully Schreiber & Moshe Zuckerman doing sound. Great job, guys. Benny & Dovid Gabay were superb, as always, as usual. DB.
