This is so sad. I’ve seen pics of this shul. It’s absolutely beautiful. It’s doubly sad, tragic, even, they didn’t have a fireproof safe for the sifrei Torah.
I, along with many other families over the years, spent a beautiful Shabbos vacationing in the Hyatt right down the street and had the zechus of davening in this beautiful shul. The Rav, Rabbi Mykoff, is a very special man. The historic shul was a picture into the struggle that dwindling Yiddeshe populations face across the nation. A real loss!
