VIDEO: New Shabbos Sirens Up in Lakewood’s Raintree Neighborhood

New Shabbos sirens went up in the Raintree neighborhood, the second neighborhood in Lakewood to install the sirens.

The first sirens were set up many years ago in the Forest Avenue area.

The sirens, similar to those used in Brooklyn and in other Frum communities, alert residents on Erev Shabbos 18 minutes before Shkiah, and then again at Shkiah.

  1. I think that the second siren should be two minutes before sunset because that is the rock bottom minimum for Tosefes Shabbos.
    Just a suggestion 🙂
    Have a great Shabbos.

  2. I think you meant to say 18 or 15 minutes before the zman of Licht Bentching and then again at the zman. there is no siren at shkiah which is 18 minutes after the zman.

  3. The siren in the Forest Ave. area has been deactivated many years ago. The siren also started the same parsha week as this week (Va’eira).
