VIDEO: Message from Township Committeeman and Republican Candidate Steven Langert: Lakewood spending: In 2010, the only year I Lakewood’s Mayor, actual spending was less than during the previous year. Senator Singer commented at the time, that in his 30 years on the committee, he had never seen a budget where the actual spending was less than the prior year.
Tax appeals: When I previously ran for the township committee, Lakewood had over 4,500 tax appeals. Working closely with the tax assessor’s office, we have reduced the number of appeals to fewer than 500 this year. What that means to you, the taxpayer, is a savings of millions of dollars that you save by not having to pay huge tax refunds.
WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?
Continued Vigilance: I pledge to continue working for you, the taxpayer, making sure that every dollar Lakewood spends is maximized for your benefit.
Change of Government: It is time to give the power back to the people. I will advocate for a directly elected mayor-council form of government. This will ensure that each area in town has a direct say as to what happens in Town Hall. Take the power out of the hands of a select few and give it to YOU.
Why isn’t this town a mayor council board?
Vote Republican only
Correct we need change. You had your chance.
It’s time for a township committee that are all on the same page, with no other aspirations other than to serve the people of Lakewood. I think Ray Coles and Mike D’Elia will do just that.
Lakewood needs Steven! Good luck tomorrow!
The vaad of the yeshiva said not to vote for Steven Langert. The vaad is the shliach of the roshei yeshiva shlita. If the gedolim are saying not to vote for Steven Langert then it is assur to vote for him.We must listen to our gedolim.
When the spending was less – did our taxes got less as well?
I don’t think so
So where is the money?
So far I know we pay taxes for a townhouse like some people pay for beautiful mentions in other states!
So far, our children didn’t get any of our tax money that we paid for schools, all went to public schools.
You have my vote!
We need Coles and D’Elia, who will focus on the needs of Lakewoods residents.
We need to be able to vote in a mayor. I agree with steven.
Tax appeals went down. Yippee. The tax RATE, however, went UP. And u cant blame the whole increase on the BOE.
Steve you got my vote
U need to win to change this town
I feel sorry for you but you had your chance and nothing changed everyone’s taxes when up last year min 10 percent. .so now you stand no chance good luck. ……..
to Benny :
Have you read the school budget ? it might be worthwhile and you will see exactly where the school taxes are going . Then you might realize that it is not the politicians fault that taxes are going up .
Steve is a republican. That is good enough reason to vote him in. Booker is a democrat which is at odds with Jewish values. That is good enough reason to not vote him in.
If I do anything today, it will definitely not be to vote for Langert.
Langert good luck
