  1. i think anyone working in township, boe etc and making over 100k should have to take a 15% pay cut this would include a whole lot of police higher ups, boe higher ups, twp manager, public works management,

  2. tO #2 – U better check. only one guy just making over 100. And he runs the whole shabang. We are the lowest pd employees – What doesn’t the public understand?

  3. to #3

thats not true, many people in this local govt making over 100k prob between 50 and 100!!!

so lets say only 50 and lets say they only make 100K (while many make close to 200K) and they all cut 15% that would be a savings of $750,000
lets reclaim our town back and stop paying taxes to help some pet projects!!!

and the BOE will either have to cut on thier own or we will have them all fired and locked up for stealing our money!! go to any other boe everyone is cutting but lakewood!!!

  4. This is amazing. You want employees of the Twsp. to take paycuts after reading an article from the Chief Of Police regarding crossing guards and extra patrols in your neighborhood. There are what–20 crossing locations listed and extra patrols. Why don’t we cut back on those services first. Happy holidays.

  5. we have money for this and lakewood public schools have no school books, leaking roofs and the list goes on and on.The poor ems takes pay cuts. When is someone going to look at all that going on in this town.

  6. So we DO have money for the garbage trucks to hang out and collect garbage and we DO have money for crossing guards? And we DO have money for the township committee to get paid and benefits? And I thought we were so hard up we had no money at all in this town. As long as we have money for these important services, all is well!
And I sure hope it’s Officer Butterworth out there getting the overtime. The cops are next to get the axe. But just as long as we have money for the garbage collections and crossing guards and committee member benefits..all is well.

  7. to #3 – i was referring to DPW. One guy over slightly over 100, average salary for 100 employees $35.789. lose 30% and we need free Obama care.

  8. #6 anon, $900,000.00 worth of new yellow recycling cans so that the million dollars worth of articulating garbage trucks that were sent away from the dump because they got stuck now have a use. The County does order you in what type of container to collect your trash or recycling, call them up and ask. Can we recycle the old blue ones now?

  9. # 12 that is not true, the county does not tell you what type pf cans to use. My town right around the corner has been doing the multi recycle for almost a year. We received in the mail, yellow recycle stickers to put on an already existing can. You can save 600,000 dollars by just sending out stickers that can be printed in DPW by the sign shop.

  10. DOES ANYONE IN TOWN REMEMBER THE LAST TIME WE HAD EXTRA PATROLS FOR CHRISTMAS,EASTER OR ANY OTHER MAJOR CHRISTIAN HOLIDAY.THIS IS AN UNBELIEVABLE WASTE OF MONEY FOR EXTRA PATROLS AND CROSSING GUARDS.
