VIDEO MESSAGE: The Department of Public Works head, John Franklin reached out to TLS this morning, asking us to get his urgent message regarding the upcoming snow storm, out to the community. ‘We’re going to get anywhere from 7-12 inches of snow” he said. “When you park your cars Friday evening, park ’em so that I can get in with the snow plows”. “If you have the cars in the way, I can’t do it”.

where getting over a foot….. maybe like last dec 19th storm.. and yes dont drive sat night unless ur having a baby…..
thank you john for suggesting where i should park my car, as my landlord takes the driveway spots
Hey what’s wrong with my comment??
🙁
wow I do hope he is wrong but if he is correct we should all work together to try and let them have shabbos to plow correctly
I think he means you should try to get them into your living room over shabbos.
Obviously, he is being ridiculous. There will be no cars driving on Friday night/ Saturday, in most of the developments, no cars half into the road either. So he can come in and plow most the roads. Come motzie shabbos I am sure some people will throw snow onto the road from their cars, but that will not be as bad as not plowing at all.
Let him not forget he approved these developments with minimal off road parking. What was he thinking then.
according to noah weather they are expecting 1-2 inches……calm down all!
If JOHN IS SO POSITIVLEY SURRE ABOUT THIS SNOWSTORM. MAYBE HE CAN TELL ME WHO IS GOING TO WIN THE SUPER BOWL SO I CAN BET THE HOUSE AND MOVE TO YERUSHLAYIM
These comments are disgusting. After the last storm everyone was busy complaining and contacting their closest non-elected loudmouth the publicly kvetch louder than they can about Franklin, the plowing, public works and Lakewood in general. Now when he makes the effort to reach out to the public to try to avoid what happened last time, the public (here anyway) is unwilling to give him the time of day, and would rather mock him. Beautiful.
I’ve known mr.franklin for many years and he has been very nice to me and gone way out to get things done but some of the developments that have. Been built were approved for one car per house possibly two now with all the basements your talking about three or four multiply that by number of houses in development where are you supposed to park and how is he supposed to plow what were you to do if ther was a sign NO PARKING WHEN SNOW COVERED as it is in some developments where there’s a sign parking on one side of street only both sides are full
Any fool can criticize condemn and complain.
For heavens sake, what in tarnation do you want the LDPW do for you? Provide a parking garage for the weekend and valet service everytime you want to come and go. He is not telling you that you have to do anything. he is telling you that if you cant do your share by keeping your car he cant do his share by plowing your neighborhood.
Why all the attention on developments?
HH what do you say about this?
why don’t all the developments put up signs in their shuls to ONLY park on ONE SIDE erev shabbos so in case there is a BIG storm, they can plow at least the clear side. Doesn’t that make sense? C”V we should use common sense when a snow storm comes!! Then when everyone who “needs” to get out for their pizza motzei shabbos, can actually drive on semi clear roads.
When the township was on 9th st they had no problem plowing the street with cars parked on the side. The just buried the cars in. This is just a lame excuse. A snow storm on Shabbos is the easiest for the township to clean up since their is not traffic. No one will complain if their car is buried and the streets are clean. Mr. Franklin this might be your chance to show the town what you can do.
Park all car in bmg
Don’t drive if your car will get stuck. If u drive and u get stuck u deserve It !
