Abolish the sunshine law!!
thank you menash. you are the best
What a clever idea to use a car power inverter with an extension cord to power up your sump pump!
(Check out 4:16)
Very well said Mr. Mayor!
right on mark with your comments on Westgate!
I just went to Walmart and got the second to last power inverter they hadd on the shelf. Basically this gadget turns your car into a generator for less than fifty bucks!
How many Watts is needed for a standard sump pump?
Menash, its been a while since we were in school together but you have acquired amazing leadership qualities!
#1 the sunshine law is for your benefit, it prevents corrupt boiler room meetings with out the public’s knowledge
Where do they sell this device?
A standard sump pump takes between 200 – 400 watts depending how large the motor.
you can buy the power inverter at stores like Walmart, Target, Lowe’s or home depot.
Very impressive. Some good old fashioned out of the box thinking. This is great creativity!
Video is very worth watching till the end. I had enough of all the proffessionals with OCD telling us to buy out the grocery stores and board up our windows. Finally someone with common sense!
does the car have to be running when running the generator from there? if not, would’nt it drain the car battery?
Hi – I appreciate the Mayor’s address however I think it’s terrible that he hasn’t closed the township offices and employees can’t get to work because of mandatory requirements to stay off the roads in the surrounding towns. Employees are worried that they will have to waste a vacation day or be docked for something beyond their control – and many are not “essential”. Gov Christie has stated that due to the State of Emergency, only essential personnel are to be on the roads after 6 am tomorrow and has closed all state offices. Brick and Jackson have already implemented a mandatory stay-off-the-roads as of tonight. WHAT SAY YOU, MAYOR MILLER on this subject???
Remember that if you use your car’s gasoline engine to power a sump pump via an inverter,
1. You won’t have mobility if you run out of gas and gas stations lost their power to pump.
2. Duration of the event may make the inverter fix only a temporary help.
Also, people in basement apts should get all valuables and food as high off the floor as possible.
The inverter idea is great for basement entrance area flooding becuase in my case it takes about 40 min of rain for my steps area to really fill up with rain water. Then it takes the pump about one minute to totally clear it out. If I lse power I can run the pump for one minute every hour I’ll save myself from a huge flood!
So far we still have power in Westgate but I have my power inverter in my car ready to roll! Thank you for the idea.
“make sure you have “ample amount of wattage”. Great one! ha ha!!
