thank you mayor akerman for all your hard work u put in for lkwd
Thank you! Let us all give the township a two week grace period to ensure that the repairs get done.
mr akerman….im stuck in a pothole. i dont hv time to listen to ur mssg. just fix the potholes NOW!!!!!
How much of the damage to the roads can be attributed to the builders who chop up the roads in order to hook into sewer and utility lines and only marginally patch the roads after they are finished? I have not seen such deterioration on roads like New Hampshire which have not been attacked by builders (yet).
Just shows you how government cannot fix our problems. It will be the private sector that fixes our problems. the private sector accomplishes much more than government. it’s called LIBERTY!!!
I agree with #5 Ben Eliezer. The mayor mentions stricter guidelines for utility cos. and builders. This town has never yet been strict with builders about anything. They get away with all kinds of violations. Let’s sit back and see if the town can actually be strict with builders about something. Now THAT would be a real change of the culture in Lakewood!
Some people will never appreciate anything. Regardless of how we got here, the Mayor is now implementing changes for the better. Let’s give the Township a chance.
Thank you, Mayor and all involved, for your efforts. May they be successful.
Yes, driving through town, I do see why we are calling this a *breakthrough*.
Wow what a breakthrough! We’re gonna fix the roads- better! What a genius plan!!
Bravo bravo.Thank you so much for your diligence in this matter that quite frankly is of gigantic proportions. We all know that it is not an inexpensive proposition but it really has to be addressed. Thank you again. P.S. A 32 yr resident of Lakewood.
Excuse me that it IS an expensive proposition.
This is a winderful plan. Shocking that no ione thopught of this in the last, oh, 99 years or so. Please send the FIRST crew to the crater on Squankum road by the corner of 11th street, right opposite Kol Shimshojn parking lot. I hit it last night. Then aniother guy hit It after me AND GOT A FLAT. OUCH !!!
Thank you to our mayor for meeting the problem head on. Definitely worth the price for the equipment.
Thank you for being there for the tax payer
Get ready for higher taxes that’s all. Then we’ll all be complaining about that.
Wasn’t anyone thinking ahead so it wouldn’t lead to this? They saw it getting worst yearly. Responsiveness is slow going.
Just wondering why West Gate roads are so bad yet the development is only 15 years old
14th and Cedar Row. PLEASE! It’s so big it swallowed the traffic cone.
I got pulled over by a cop I told him I wasn’t drunk I was just avoiding the pot holes
I pay 15k a year in tax, 35% on my pay check, 7% on all purcheses …. Crazy!
If you file a claim for damage from a pot hole , does that count as an accident , when you go to sell your car ?
I’m thankful the Township is addressing this issue. People must realize you are driving on an obstacle course and try to avoid the potholes. If you can’t avoid some of them then drive VERY SLOWLY thru them and you wont end up tearing your tires or worse. Unfortunately people drive like its a beautiful spring day on the open road. It’s not. Wether driving in the snow or in pothole city BE CAREFUL.
I heard they are building some new developments in the pot holes, can anyone verify that?
Carey Street has not had any development, but there’s pot holes every other week, so I’m not sure if development is the reason.
The excuse that Chestnut st.is a county road is totally an unexceptable answer. Our vehicles are getting trashed while we’re waiting for the county to fix Chestnut st. We need an exception we do it and bill the county. How about that Mr. Mayor.
