PHOTOS & VIDEO: The next time you see caution tape or cones blocking a road due to flooding, it may be a good idea to adhere to the warning, for your own safety – and to prevent serious damage to your vehicle.
This video, shot on South Lake Drive today, demonstrates just that.
A driver attempting to drive through the knee-deep waters, resulted in the vehicle breaking down
Narrated by Jack Berger, the video shows Officer David Silberstien assisting a Chaveirim member removing the vehicle from the flooded road. TLS.
As always, thank you TLS for your extensive coverage of the storm and of this clip in particular! Don’t be an ‘oiber-chacham’ and attempt to traverse such flooding in a roadway – ESPECIALLY when the LPD placed cones and tape directing people AWAY from that area.
But, alas!, my friends, yer can’t feex Stoopid!
Kudos to Officer Silberstein for keeping our streets safe!
(By the way, that narrator has got SOME voice!)
I love that Chevy wagon! Those were the days.
“LPD Assists Chaveirim in Pulling Vehicle from Flooded Street”
-actually, its the opposite: “Chaveirim assists LPD”
And do you really need to be told not to drive in a flooded area????????
Mr. Conservative,
Actually, in cases like these LPD turns to Chaveirim and as you can see the chaveirim member does the heavy work. Please don’t belittle this great organization.
Officer Dave is the best!
apparently you didnt watch the clip. how on earth do you interpret the clip as “Chaveirim assists LPD”. the cop did nothing, but hold the rope for about 10 sec. sorry if its difficult for you to accept, but chaveirim is awesome.
Chavrim is a great org. But in these types of cases they should not respond and people will think twice about doing stupid things if they know chaverim wont show up.the fact that chaverim shows up makes people not think before doing such rediculous things.
to #4 — in lakewood? yes they do!!!!!
Chaveirim is here to help people in need. We should all be happy to help our fellow man but as you know this doesn’t happen. This is one organization that does not need the approval to help others.
Great organization- great job
