VIDEO: On the first Shabbos after Pesach, many have the custom to eat ‘Shlissel Challah’. The Challah, either braided in the shape of a key or baked with a key, is said to be a Segula for Parnassah.
In the video below, you can learn how to make several different types of Shlissel Challah, just in time for Shabbos.
What’s pshat in this segula?
Noone ever heard of it years ago. Now it’s become one of the mizvos chamuros.
I very much Thank you TLS for putting this up.
To number one; It’s a segulah for parnassah.
To number two; It is brought down I believe in the sefer segulos yisroel.
This sefer is more well known in chassidic circles. However it is mostly only known to the older generation since it has very mystical segulos inside as well as some more simple ones.
I hope that give you some satisfactory info.
Thank you!
Here is an article about various reasons for the minhag http://asimplejew.blogspot.com/2007/04/guest-posting-by-talmid-shlissel.html
