One Click Emergency Phones will soon be standard in all shuls in the Lakewood area.
These red phones have been programmed with a direct dial only and feature two buttons. In an emergency, a caller can press to be connected to 911 or Hatzolah, depending on the nature of the crisis. This direct dial will save precious seconds and eliminate confusion when bystanders try to reach for their personal phones on a weekday or scramble to a neighboring home on Shabbos or Yomtov when no one has a phone on them. In the case of an emergency in real time every second counts and can literally mean the difference between life and death.
The emergency red phones have been developed by partnership between Lakewood Shomrim and a local technology company to meet the specific needs of Lakewood Shuls. It is important to understand that having this emergency phone in a shul, no matter how big or small or what the location is, is a vital proactive step that can ensure the safety of those who daven or come to a simcha there. This phone is low cost and can be ordered in minutes and installed easily.
Lakewood Shomrim would like to thank the hundreds of shuls that called in to register or confirm their shul’s information. If you still haven’t registered your shul in LCSW’s database, please register at lcswnj.org/safeshul or call 732-367-5279 right away.

Great Idea.
Is LCSW the same organization as Lakewood Shomrim?
Please make sure that when registering the phone line that the emergency phone is connected to, to use the correct name and address on the phone line account. That is the name and phone number that will show up on Caller ID by the 911 or Hatzalah dispatcher. In NY, people often register the number to a personal name instead of the Shul name, etc. and that can cause a delay in the response.
Also, make sure to place the phone in an accessible location, but not in an area where it can be played with by children.
It’s a great idea.
Can you let us know what the cost is, so that we can all make that happen.
Thanks
LCSW is shomrim
Everybody has a cell phone, why not invest in reflective jackets!!
LKW driver do you bring your cell phone to shul on shabbos and leave it on?!?!?!????!
Baruch Hashem in our shul we do not need this emergency phone system, because we have a no talking in shul policy, we daven with kavanah, and we daven Vasikin 365 days a year, we have the guarantee of Chazal (brachos 9b) whoever davens vasikin will not be harmed all day long, and we have obsolete Emunah in Hashem that He won’t bring us to any need of an emergency while we’re in His home serving Him.
Is this phone for emergency use for everyone that lives in lakewood? Or is it only for the orthodox community? I think that is a fair question
THE PRICE IS PROHIBITIVE.
