Lakewood residents send hundreds of meals to Texas residents grappling with Winter storm [VIDEO]

As Texas residents grapple with a severe winter storm, Lakewood residents have been busy cooking up a different storm.

At around 6:00 p.m. last night, Lakewood resident Baruch Brog contacted Yehuda Kaszirer of Bikur Cholim, stating he needs to get meals over to residents of Dallas, Texas who are struggling as a result of the winter storm. The storm left many of the Frum community without electric and water, making it difficult to prepare proper Shabbos food.

Within hours, a team of Bikur Cholim and other volunteers were cooking and baking – fish, Kugel, cholent – you name it.

The food, enough for 250 families, was loaded into a van and set off for Texas – an approximately 24-hour drive.

Upon arrival, the food will be distributed by Chaveirim of Dallas.
