UPDATE: Moments after publishing the video, TLS received the following update from Mayor Coles, which he received from JCP&L.
“JCP&L inspections of damaged substation equipment are ongoing and restoration is dependent on inspection results. If all checks out okay, restoration is expected by the 7:30-8:00pm timeframe. We are simultaneously working on backup restoration plans that are more time consuming in the event damage is more extensive.”
There are numerous issues with JCPL, such as, that there are literally hundreds of street lights out. I’ve emailed Ray numerous times and Jcpl and have gotten nowhere.
At least he didn’t say he will pass it on the the towns “engineers”
I think we should all stop paying our electric bills till they fix this whole system, what’s the worst that can happen?? They will shut off our electricity?? It’s anyway shut down so much, we already know how to deal with it!!!
Enough is enough!!!
thank you mr mayor!
and a huge thanks to all the volunteers!
i actually found it fun:)
What type of damage are we talking about? Was there a fire? Accident?
too many people, that’s the problem. this town keeps on growing, but JCP&L still hasn’t analyzed the demographic data, so they are supplying for a town 1/3 of the current population.
what they should have done 5 yrs ago would have been to plan ahead and upgrade the capacity.
well, they will get it straight some day, any decade now.
Yah, well if Lakewood Township itself plans poorly and over expands, don’t expect the utilities, and the State or County for that matter, to start tripping over the.selves to accommodate.
Thank you Mr Mayor for being on top of things right away as you always do!
Its time for some serious attitude change from JCP&L and BPU leadership!!
Enough with the complete lack of interest in our towns needs.
Everything comes from.Hashem. Major outage on 5TH NIGHT OF CHANUKA. Means Hashem telling you to bring more light….has nothing to do with JCP&L….
Maybe yall should have spent the past 15 years building a relationship with jcp&l…
the issues with the township involve congestion, traffic and parking, whereas the issue with the power grid is too little power to the entire township regardless of how the people park and get around within a specific area.
Any updates as to what happened and why?
