  2. The Fire Department pays a flat fee to rent the hydrants in town as opposed to actual water consumption so there is no additional cost for this.

  3. Another point,
    The engines need to be drained and flushed periodically to maintain optimal performance and prevent rusting etc. During the the ‘Battle of the Badges’, (last night’s event for police and firefighters), we take advantage of a necessary operation while having some fun at the same time.
