As first reported on TLS Status, during tonight’s Jackson council meeting, a resident complained about Hatzolah, a volunteer rescue squad, and their operations in the town.
The resident inquired if Hatzolah could establish “sub stations” throughout the area, with ambulances parked and connected to extension cords.
Martin Flemming, addressing the concern, affirmed that Hatzolah had the flexibility to park their ambulances anywhere, emphasizing the importance of their life-saving mission.
He acknowledged that while Hatzolah might be working on a permanent location for a building, they currently positioned their ambulances strategically as per the community’s needs.
The resident also raised the issue of “illegal” red, blue, and white emergency lights used by certain officials.
Flemming responded, revealing that the chief of the department and assistant chiefs of squads are allowed to have such lights if they possess the necessary authorization card.
While Flemming admitted his personal disapproval of this practice, he explained that a loophole exists whereby designating someone as a chief permits the usage of these lights.
Reflecting on his 46 years of volunteer firefighting experience, Flemming shared that in the past, he faced consequences for having three lights when only two were allowed.
In defense of Hatzolah, he maintained that their ambulances, even when driving at higher speeds, serve the public interest and operate within legal boundaries.
Its funny that this guy is complaining about the lights and not the sirens. You would think the sirens bother more people more often than the lights.
But at least he was respectful.
This guy sounds like a real jerk. Can’t wait for him to leave Jackson one way or another.
Maybe one day he will need Hatzalah and Hatzalah will gladly help him.
Then his mind will gladly change course.
he is just looking to point out something negative instead of seeing the good that is being done by volunteers he is trying to stir up animosity in the name of the law which was in fact not written by him or exclusively for him actually the laws were written to protect the vulnerable and volunteer EMS in these semi-rural areas are providing vital protection and for free
I wonder if a private citizens electric vehicle with an extension cord charger bothers him too?
Jeez
Wait till they need help …who do you think they’re going to call !!!!
Ghostbusters
Hatzolah is not only for the Orthodox community. Hatzolah is for everyone, they help anyone and everyone in need, regardless of race, religion, etc. The phone number is public and anyone can call, just google it. I hope this man stays healthy and he never has to be the recipient of Hatzolah’s life saving work. But if he does he will see first hand that they are good people out to help EVERYONE in the community.
Hatzalah services all races, ethnicities, and genders.
If this guy goes into cardiac arrest tomorrow, hatzlaha will be there to save him.
There are a lot of problems going on in Jackson these days. This is not one of them.
I did not know they would help everyone. I am sure a lot of people do not know that, Why do you think that is. ? Perhaps because they do not mingle with other groups. They have their own stores,so I thought they would have their own medical and fire companies. If you took a pole and people were truthful they would say the same exact thing. As far as the comment from Needs to be said. Thats why there is hate. Use your brains before you speak.
Irregardless of this Malcontents complaints, Is there really a purpose for So many lights on each car? Does it really make it safer? or is it just for show?. I wonder sometimes since When it’s raining and dark for example and you’re driving down the road and there is police activity, the abundance of lights blinking can be very
disorienting.
If you were a volunteer and ever tried to get through traffic in an emergency, you would know the answer to your question.
Aha! The more people get disoriented they’re less they insist on not moving….
Right. Absolutely nothing to do with the macher-tutzer syndrome. Interesting the longer the person is on the force the less lights they have. Ever paid attention?
This guy probably has no clue that any Hatzolah member using his lights just to get through traffic has a strong chance of getting thrown off or at least suspended.
If you see a member hitting his lights and siren while sitting in traffic, it’s either because he just took a call or is not a member.
If you see someone shut their lights after getting through traffic, chances are he just got canceled.
Happens all the time
Any vehicle with light are emergency vehicles
Why are they not connected to a 911 call? Or are they?
