Did the witness report it as a hit and run?
The Vidio mailed – nailed- him.
Proven once again we should all have (get) dash cams.
It would’ve been a good video had the resolution been of a higher quality. It’s much too grainy to see the identifying numbers on the mail truck..
Next time don’t block the mailbox.
Looks like old damage on tg the car. You don’t see anything on the floor etc.
if you look closely as the truck is pulling away you can see the car shake, he clearly hit the car
To the owner of the car my suggestion would be don’t waste your time tracking the driver of the mail truck unless you have a big deductible, because as far as I recall they are exempt from paying. Just to clarify, state and I believe federal agencies are exempt from paying damages even if they are in the wrong. In such instances one has to go to one owns insurance to claim. They are only required to reimburse your out of pocket expenses so they would reimburse ones deductible. I had that bad experience with a NJ Transit bus that even though driver was in the wrong as witnessed by a police officer still NJ Transit advised me they are exempt from paying me and that I should go after my own insurance. They did however pay my deductible but only after many many months.
Why am i not surprised? We must have the same mailan! He’s nasty!
When i explained that i couldn’t move my neighbour’s car who was away for the week because her father had died he told me i could go pick up my mail at the post office!
@just me: very easy to check which mailman was doing that route!
The mailman in my neighborhood (Pawnee/Seminole) is an extremely nasty fellow, who routinely uses foul language, screams at children in his way, and smashes into parked cars or rear-ends them if it so suits him. I had to call to complain about this a few months ago. Hope the guy finds a new job soon — on another continent.
To Lakewood 111. I also saw the car shake. Unbelievable.
Dear ‘cool masmid ‘
Lukshin. Kugel. Baloney
The car owner can definitely make a claim through usps’ insurance, as can anyone with any “federal” agency.
The same with N.J. Transit. (Which isn’t a federal agency, but sounded official 🙂
My comments were based on my own experience as I indicated earlier. A police officer witnessed the accident and told me the only reason he’s not issuing the driver a ticket is because he’s a state employee. My insurance paid the damage even though the report very clearly stated that the driver was at fault. My insurance went after NJ transit but they refused to pay for the reasons I said earlier. I’m not sure which part you didnt get..
Dear cool masmid,
That is very disturbing. I’m assuming in your case the other party was completely at fault.
The officer should’ve given them a ticket, or atleast fill a police report accordingly.
Shame on whoever mishandled your case.
Keep shteiging, masmid
@coolmasmid
I had an incidence where a state truck backed into me, I got full coverage.. Not sure who handled your insurance claim, but sounds unlawful.
