1- Show a face of calm when speaking to your children.
2- Stick to age-appropriate language and focus on facts. Don’t blow things out of proportion.
3- Don’t hyper-focus on frightening news. Keep information to what needs to be known.
4- This may be the most crucial point. Embrace the feeling of fear and then move to calming and coping. It’s okay to feel afraid, and that’s something we want our children to grasp. We all want our children not to worry, but pushing away fear makes things worse – not better.
