VIDEO: Downed Primary Wires Catch Fire During Snowstorm

VIDEO: Dozens of trees already weakened by Hurricane Sandy have come down this evening, taking down with them live wires, many of which are catching fire.

Authorities are urging resident to stay indoors, and warning resident never to try and extinguish the fires. Attempting to extinguish an electrical fire can cause serious harm, or death.

The burnt wires in various neighborhoods, have caused outages to more than 8,000 JCP&L customers around Lakewood.

The snow is expected to let up overnight, but don’t expect power back on first thing in the morning. TLS.

  1. It’s cold at night. Can’t use the bathroom at night either cause its too dark and you can’t carry a flashlight or a candle. Can’t use the oven cause it uses an electric keypad. Difficult to have chamim without a plug for the cholent pot. Just daaven we get it back instead of trying to be clever.
