[VIDEO BELOW] A Lakewood resident tells TLS his dashcam came quite in handy Sunday when he was involved in an accident, and the other driver claimed to police he went through a green light.
“I’ll be sending this to the insurance company,” the victim said.
The accident occurred in New York.
Dashcams are becoming more and more common, and can save drivers from litigation and more in the event of an incident. A decent dashcam can be purchased for as little as $100.

Please share what kind to buy. I saw stores selling them for 30.00.
Thanks.
He ran a yellow.
Definitely a yellow straight thru!
Did the Lakewood guy get a ticket that he has to fight?
I think the driver has a share in the blame he should have seen the car coming a swerved out of the way. That accident could have easily been avoided. Probably just needs some driving lessons.
So? You’re allowed to go through a yellow
Depends on the state. In PA he would share the blame. The only her car had red though, so there is no argument here.
Be careful what you say to a police officer as it can override the dashcam’s video and will be used as equal-weight evidence. Say as LITTLE AS POSSIBLE. (this happened to me)

The “Yellow-Light Rule” in New York. … A yellow light means only that traffic facing the light is “warned” that a red light will soon follow. As long as your vehicle entered the intersection or passed the crosswalk or limit line before the light turned red, you haven’t broken the law.
what about behind you
