VIDEO: Chai Lifeline Honors CHOP CEO at National Gala

chaiVIDEO: Chai Lifeline hosted its annual national gala last night at the Marriot Marquis in New York City. Over 1100 people gathered in honor of Chai Lifeline and this year’s honorees.

Chai Lifeline presented the Maimonidies Medical Award to Dr. Steven Altschuler, CEO of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Under Dr. Altschuler’s leadership CHOP has been rated as the number one pediatric hospital in the country. The award recognizes Dr. Altschuler and CHOP for providing culturally sensitive care to Chai Lifeline families and for partnering with Chai Lifeline New Jersey for the past 15 years to care of Chai Lifeline children.

The night’s program featured a video of CHOP interviewees, and Dr. Altschuler so aptly describes Chai Lifeline’s role. “Chai Lifeline does everything except the medicine. Everything that is critically important for the successful treatment of patients.”

Leading CHOP officials joined for the inspirational evening including: Dr. Jack Rychik- Director Fetal Heart Program, Dr. Elaine Zackai- Director Genetics, Ellen Feinstein- Service Director Oncology and Transplant, and Peter Grollman- VP Government Affairs.
