VIDEO: Car Seat event in Lakewood puts safety First

The Lakewood community came out this past Sunday to the first ever Car Seat Check Event; waiting on line, in the heat, sending a strong message that the wellbeing and safety of their children is above all.

The Car Seat Check Event coordinated by the Lakewood Civilian Safety Watch in partnership with the Lakewood Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office enabled parents to have their car seats and boosters checked inside their vehicles by certified Child Restraint Techs and learn how to properly secure their children in them. Numerous motorists had to be turned away due to lack of time and will be given private appointments to assess the safety of their car seats.

CSO Radio of Lakewood was at the event displaying its RideNRemind System. This safety mechanism serves as a backseat reminder to the driver so that no child is left in a vehicle by mistake, G-d forbid.

The overwhelming success of this event has the coordinators realizing the need for more such car seat inspections for the greater Lakewood area, so please stay tuned for other such events in the future.
