VIDEO: Car Bursts Into Flames In Garden State Parkway Toll Plaza

VIDEO & PHOTOS: A car which crashed into a toll plaza on the Garden State Parkway this afternoon, climbed the wall and burst into flames inside the toll booth, as earlier reported on our News Alerts.

The dramatic footage, captured by a TLS contributor, shows the wrecked car fully engulfed in flames as it sends a plume of smoke up into the sky after it crashed into the toll booth at mile marker 160 on the Parkway.

The video was shot as emergency personnel began arriving to the scene.

The condition of the driver, or what caused the crash, is unknown at this time.

The car was removed from the booth moments ago, but expect residual delays in the area. TLS.

you have this listed a scar explodes on FB, the car did not explode. you can see in the video it is completly intact. it was a car fire from an accident, I witnessed a truck fire today in Bayville, but I wouldnt say it burst into flames if it didnt.

If they did away with the tolls, like they were supposed to way back when, this would not have happened. When the parkway was built there were supposed to be tolls until the bill was paid off for it. However, they just kept adding more stuff to keep the bills coming in. Typical NJ fashion.

If it was you who crashed , I don’t think you would be happy with reporters that show the footage for entertainment. Come on, someone got hurt there!

a friend of mine works for the parkway as a toll collector and he was told that all of NJ will be EZPass within the next two years and he and all the other toll collectors will be out of a job.

Think the tolls are there for good arent they trying to push for everyone to get EZPass

If you watched the news you you see that they say the car exploded into flames after impact at the tool booth, not exploded. Try getting your reports correct before reporting things. There is a difference on exploding and exploding into flames.

I have to agree with #11.

#6 – what’s your angle?

How can they make the Parkway EZ Pass only? What if someone is a visitor to the state in a rental car and doesn’t have EZ Pass? I personally prefer to pay in cash.

are you for real? that’s not funny. this person must have been flying in order to cause so much damage. I can’t even imagine someone surviving such a terrible crash.

no one died, the 86 yr old driver of the prius was taken to hospital for chest pains. the car caught fire when it hit the toll, but did not explode. the driver was lucky to get out before the fire engulfed the car.

#6, there is no need for a release. Please do your research before you start bashing others.
