VIDEO: Announcement from Lakewood School District Attorney Michal Inzelbuch regarding School Breakfast & Lunches

Attorney Inzelbuch: Today, the Lakewood public school district served 3300 plus meals via established bus routes.

My understanding, at this time, subject to further verification is that:

1- Many non public schools (24) are providing kosher meals via established bus routes. Call Abe K for more information (LSTA);

2- Lakewood school district is considered a CEP (Community Eligibility Provision) District. Thus, ALL children can receive meals for FREE regardless of income;

3- The Department of Agriculture has advised the district that they should utilize SSO ( Seamless Summer Option) now, even though it’s not summer, for reimbursement purposes;

4- The District is willing to serve as a “Sponsor” for any and all schools who desire to be a “site”, if eligible;

5- The District uses Sodexho to provide all food services -they are the food service management company for the District;

6- Cory Goldfarb is the Sodexho Food Service Manger for the District;

7- Cory Goldfarb is willing to assist any interested school;

8- Kosher meals can be arranged thru this service. The District utilizes Gelbstein’s /Café on Clifton Avenue;

It is our hope that this can be of assistance during the pandemic.

  1. As of now we’re getting breakfast and lunch from our child’s school in Lakewood tho we live in Jackson. If there would be deliveries would that eliminate the physical pick up sites? What would happen to those of who live out if Lakewood yet attend private schools in Lakewood?

  2. Based on the above info, it sounds like I should be able to get a credit for the $45 a month per child (in addition to the snack fees) that I paid in advance for lunch. Can that be confirmed?

  3. Everybody’s entitled, but my kids’ school as well as other schools are not providing. Where can I pick up from? Why is this info not being provided?

    Thank you.

  4. Is there any site or any source of information, stating exactly which schools or places are serving the meals? Do they give breakfast,lunch or just nosh? Could they give at more locations, so we don’t have to wait an hour in line & the streets aren’t overwhelmed with cars backed up waiting?

  5. There has to be more places for pick up 5 locations for whole town is not enough traffic is back up for blocks and 40 min waiting line is unfair. Please open more locations. Thanks
