Veterans Day 11/11/11: Municipal Offices Closed – Regular Trash & Recycling Pickup

Tomorrow is Veterans Day. Veterans Day is an annual United States holiday honoring the millions of military veterans. It is a Federal and State holiday that is observed on November 11 each year. Municipal offices will be closed. The Department of Public Works has notified TLS that there will be regular trash and recycling pickup tomorrow, but the offices will be closed.

One of the most notable observations on this day, is the national ceremony held at Arlington National Cemetery.

Why did public works have off on Election day????

It would have been better if they had just switched off the days off, and kept Veterans Day as the better day to honor those who fought to keep us and the world safe.

Election day off? Why? Why?????
