(Related video in extended article). If you’ve parked illegally near BMG this afternoon and you come out after Seder to find your vehicle missing, don’t panic thinking it was stolen, it may have just been impounded by the Police. PD has just sent a tow truck to impound a vehicle partially blocking a residential driveway on 8th Street, between Private and Lakewood Avenues. We would like to once again remind our readers, it may be worth the extra minute of Learning to find a legal spot and not cause a Chilul Hashem and unnecessary aggravation for all parties involved. (In most cases, the tow truck wins. See humorous video below).

actually it was my car and it broke down
it pays to take extra caution and extra measures about ur actions even tho its due to an unfortunate situation. even tho many ppl have unavoidable situatiuons such as brakedowns it still their obligation to take whatever steps in preventing further harm to themselves and especially to OTHERS. perhaps a note with a phone number, or a knock on the door, or a call to the police explaining your actions or misactions, could have saved you n OTHERS further aggrevation.
not too long ago i found a minivan abandoned in middle of forest ave with no note and no1 around the vehicle. the police were edgy to impound the van (rightfully so). however i did my best in finding the owner. another lady who brokedown and decided to get her kids home and return sometime later to then call AAA. well what a surprise it would have been to her to find her van not there. then pay an extra 200.minimum for the impound, plus a ticket for abandonment.
perhaps cars should have 3 manuals… owners manual. drivers manual, and a common sense manual !
The best way to get around this whole headache is to get driven by a chaffeur. That’s what I do – it does cost a little but well worth it, when you consoder the time and aggravation it could save you.
i was under the impression that a car cannot be towed for blocking a private driveway, am i wrong?
39A:PKG-3. Places where parking prohibited (N.J.S.A. 39:4-138)
• In front of a public or private driveway
They may reserve the right to tow the vehicle if it hinders the operations of other vehicles.
Parking in front of a private driveway also warrants a ticket as well.
