Yossi Banda, the youngest of the three Bachurim imprisoned in Japan has been released to Israel to serve the remainder of his 5 year sentence, as first reported on TLS, and will be arriving shortly. “Yossi’s arrival in Israel is imminent” the Lakewood Vaad Hatzolah for the Bachurim in Japan told TLS. “Yossi took a flight from japan to Israel, with one stopover in Asia”. “Other than the rice and cucumbers he had received, Yossi has enjoyed his first kosher meal in 2 years” an Askan from the Vaad Haztolah said.
He continued, “Thanks to all those involved in this effort, including (those in the picture (L to R)) Rav Mendel Shafran, Bnei Brak mayor R Yaakov Asher, Askan Rav Iche Rosengarden and Yona Banda”. The meeting took place in Japan, at Chabad Tokyo, to coordinate Yossi’s release.
