New Jersey American Water customers in Lakewood and Ocean Township may notice a shift in water pressure as the Voorhees-based company works to refurbish its water tanks. “The tank(s) will be out of service during the repair,” said spokesman Richard G. Barnes. “Customers may experience periods of reduced water pressure.”
Barnes said steel repair work inside the tanks will be followed by the internal and external painting of the million-gallon tanks.
Improvements to the Massachusetts Avenue 2-million gallon water tank in Lakewood is expected to be complete by year’s end. The tank was last painted in 1979, Barnes said. Full story in APP.
