As New Jersey residents begin to receive their newly raised electric bills, a new Fairleigh Dickinson University poll finds that utility companies and Governor Phil Murphy receive the most blame for the double digit increases.
The FDU poll of likely voters in New Jersey found that 26% name utility companies while 19% blame Governor Murphy, when asked who is most responsible for the price hikes. They were followed by state legislators whom 14% cast their blame and another 15% who blamed the federal government.
Broken down by party registration, more than half of Republicans (51%) blame the Governor (33%) or the state legislature (18%); while Democrats tend to blame utility companies (31%) and the federal government (22%) instead.
“The bottom line is that people in New Jersey don’t really know why their electric bills are going up, so they’re blaming whoever they don’t like,” Dan Cassino, Executive Director of the poll, said. “Republicans blame Democrats in state government; Democrats blame Trump and what they see as greedy companies.”

Chefs, Mothers and Wives Receive the Most Blame for the Recent Decline in Quality Summertime Meals, Poll Finds
As Americans continue to receive their hastily-crafted, substandard, summertime vacation meals, a new poll conducted by the ‘American University of Food Gobblers’ finds that “chefs, moms and wives receive the most blame for the precipitous drop in quality chow.”
The poll of likely food fressers found that 38% name their mothers as the chief culprits in the summertime food decline scandal, while 15% name their wives as the primary villains, and 30% lay the blame on the country’s restaurant chefs. .0005% of the respondents named their personal, in-house chefs as the chief villains in the horrendous food scandal. The remaining poll respondents laid the blame on the summer season and summer vacation.
“The bottom line is that family members don’t really know why the quality of their meals has declined so steeply in the summer months,” said Fredrick Fry, a world renowned food connoisseur, who teaches ‘Food Fundamentals’ at the American University of Food Gobblers, “so their blaming the usual scapegoats – the children are blaming their mothers, the husbands are blaming their wives, and the affluent are blaming their personal, in-house chefs. It’s par for the meal-griping course.”
When asked about the latest food poll during a White House press briefing on Friday, President Trump told reporters:
“I don’t profess to be an expert chef, but I do know a little bit about high quality food, and I can tell you one thing: ‘We’ve got to make summertime meals great again, because America can not survive a continuous onslaught of low-quality summer cuisines’!”
“Bottom line,” the President warned, “the sleepy and crooked food preparers in this country better get their acts together, or we’ll fire them and replace them with a new batch of top-notch mothers, wives, restaurant cooks and in-house chefs!”
Its Murphy if you read what he did.
