Mayor Ray Coles says the Township is gearing up for this impending storm, but will need the community’s assistance to make sure things run smoothly.
The storm is expected to start later tonight. Tomorrow, around 9 AM, snow will taper off and mix a little but only temporarily. Heavy snow will return later in the morning.
“We are mobilizing our public works as well as many private contractors to remove the snow as quickly as possible,” Mayor Coles said. “But, we need the community’s help.”
- Do not put out garbage cans tonight. Garbage collection is canceled for Tuesday. All pickups will be pushed back one day. Friday’s pickup with be done Saturday. Again, do not put garbage cans by the curb tonight.
- Please get as many cars off the street as possible. Pull them up on the lawns. The fewer cars on the streets the easier it will be to plow curb to curb and clean the streets.
- If you don’t have to go out tomorrow, don’t. Stay home and stay safe. This has the potential to be a very dangerous storm. High winds and heavy snow could cause blizzard conditions.
- Please look after elderly neighbors and neighbors with young children.
- Don’t wait until Wednesday to shovel the sidewalk. Do it a few times before it gets too deep and heavy.
“Hopefully this will be the last snow storm of the season. Please allow public works to do their job. Stay off the streets and keep yourselves and your families safe.”
