I once called renewal and explained that i am interested in donating but would need someone to lead me through the application and approval process. I work many hours and would take off weeks for the actual procedure but abhor paperwork and the tedious preliminaries. That was not followed up by them. In such a case where there is a specific group of family looking for a donor, I am sure there would be someone who would take charge of that. In that case I would be ready to donate.
