A road rage incident is what lead to last night’s shooting in Lakewood, police said.
As first reported on TLS, around 11:15pm last night, Officer Daniel DeBartolomeis responded to the area of Cross Street and Massachusetts Avenue to meet with the victim of a reported road rage incident.
Upon arrival he met with a 22-year-old Lakewood man who stated that the incident started at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Rt 70 after he accidentally cut the other driver off.
As the two continued traveling north on Massachusetts Avenue, the unidentified suspect fired one round into the victim’s vehicle. The bullet entered through the rear drivers side door and lodged into the unoccupied front passenger seat.
At this time the incident is under investigation and anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Austin Letts at 732-363-0200.
“Accidentally”
This guy probably drives however he likes, and now that it nearly cost him his life by someone nastier than him, he’s hiding in the corner calling himself a victim who others are bullying.
Let the bullies get scared a bit.
(Though not with shooting)
why are there no cameras at that intersection in this day and age?
There are cameras at that intersection for quite awhile – it’s those portable OC Sheriff systems.
It’s not always accidental.
People don’t shoot people — guns do
People pull the trigger.
