As first reported on TLS last year, Pediatric Affiliates will be terminating its longtime contract with United Healthcare.
Today, patients received a letter that the termination of the contract will take effect in June, 2019.
The letter states they will continue to accept s number of NJ Family Care Plans offers by other insurance carriers, including Amerigroup and others.
So bottom line- what’s the best HMO to join? Anyone have a recommendation?
That’s very drastic.
I haven’t heard that other offices are terminating their contract.
I wonder if United Healthcare will change their mind last second like they did with Ocean County Internal Medicine Associates.
Chemed still takes UnitedHealth
I wouldn’t bet on United staying in Lakewood much longer, based on how they’ve been cutting services they’re obviously abandoning Lakewood. The only real options are Aetna and Amerigroup who’s been investing a lot of infrastructure here in Lakewood. Talk to your Dr I guess.
Does Chop accept Aetna and Amerigroup?
Which dentists are accepting Aetna and Amerigroup?
My pediatrician let me know that United is cutting their relationship with Chop as well. Amerigroup covers DuPont hostipal which apparently is also a class A hospital while my understanding is that Aetna has neither. Again you should consult w your doctor. My pediatrician recommended Amerigroup but that’s just my pediatrician.
DuPont is an exceptional hospital. A little far though.
