UPDATE: Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Rt. 9 in Freehold [PHOTO]

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Rt. 9 in Freehold, officials confirmed.

The accident happened shortly after 7:00 PM at the intersection of Throckmkrtan Road/Freehold Englishtown Road (Rt. 522) and Rt. 9 Southbound.

According to initial reports, there was no driver on scene of the accident. The driver reportedly stopped down the road.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Expect heavy delays as authorities conduct an investigation.
