UPDATE: One Killed, One Airlifted to Hospital Following Accident in Jackson

One person is dead and another was airlifted to the hospital following an accident in Jackson today, police told TLS.

As first reported on TLS Status, at around 12:00 PM, police responded to the area of Cassville Road and Reed Road for the reports of an accident involving a dump truck and a car.

Upon arrival, EMS responders found the driver of the car in traumatic arrest, and CPR was performed.

The driver was pronounced deceased, and the passenger of the car was flown to JSUMC.

The driver of the dump truck was no injured.

An investigation is underway.

Its called stupid, irresponsible, on the cell phone, ignorant, failure to be compliant driving.
