Detective Captain Paul Daly tells TLS the woman’s report is a bit vague and apparently there was no indication that the woman was ever threatened, physically or verbally. The report indicates that the woman was removing groceries from her vehicle at approximately 11:30 p.m. when a pick-up truck pulled up near her.
The driver then emerged from his vehicle, the woman says, and seemingly reached for a weapon from his seat. The woman, feeling threatened, dropped her bags, screamed and ran into her home. She never made any conversation or contact with the driver.
“She definitely did the right thing”, Daly says, but says there was no indication that he attempted to hurt her, according to the report.
TLS also spoke with Police Chief Rob Lawson who echoed the words of Detective Captain Daly, and added that the ‘suspect’ was in fact a delivery person delivering items to the area, and at no time did he try to lure the woman into his vehicle.
“It’s always good to be cautious”, Chief Lawson said.
paranioa big time!
LOL though. Did she call LCSW?
Glad that’s cleared up.
Oh, see? Lakewood’s not that bad!! lol
the sky is falling, the sky is falling, said henny penny to lucy goosey
talk about living in a sheltered community
Whats a deliuery guy doing making deliveries at 11:30pm some things a little fishy there
ha ha ha typicle
He must have said hello 2 her.
The thing I like best about this story (that no one picked up on) is that she was bringing groceries into her house at 11:30 pm, in other words she had just gone shopping. My wife always tells me that man do all the shopping, wait till I show her this story ….. unless he actually did the shopping and then asked her to bring in the groceries.
we have to stop this lcsw bashing they cant be everywhere at the same time nobody can. I dont hear people bashing chaveirim hatzolah bikur cholim every organization in this town is here for us there is only one thing to do and that is thank them bless them and praise them and their volunteers and families
i hear people bashing LCSW and chaveirim all the time and these are people who when they need any of the organizations, they feel free to reach out to them. So stop bashing them!!!
Lol! Cute story! When I was about 10/11 yrs old I was by my neighbors house- home alone ( no I would not allow that… ) and that was the time that there were rumors of a white truck going around trying to abduct children. We were upstairs when someone started ringing the bells like a nut! We were petrified and looked outside and saw a white truck parked side ways in middle of the street as though to block traffic. The next thing we knew, he opened the door and said anyone home?! Hello.. Hello… anyone home.( yes I do lock my doors) I literally can not explain how terrified we were. My friend ran into her closet and I ran under the bed ( and ripped my pink shirt on one of the springs) then we heard footsteps and a big bang on the kitchen floor. Then he left. We ran to my house where my older sister was babysitting. She closed all the windows… shades and all. We called the police. Tonss of questions were asked- especially bec. my neighbor had also ” almost been abducted” The police were going to catch this guy!! Later on in the afternoon we went back to her house ( after her mother came home). We hear her mother saying ” Oh great the guy came to deliver our fruits and vegis!”
Just thought I would share my story – girls…girls… girls….
I live on a quiet block. If a pickup up truck pulled in next to me when I was unloading my groceries on my block at a deserted time like that, I’d be afraid, and also run inside. Any time I unload groceries at night and it’s dark, I try to be careful. I don’t know if the driver meant anything wrong, but I wouldn’t want to take any chances.
who goes shopping so late at night? I can understand if a husband goes, but a woman by herself, thats just plain crazy, and were was this deliverie going to. does she live near a store or something, this whole story does no make any sense this is a real mystery
I can not be mekabel this story. For her to be unloading groceries at 11:30 would mean that she shopped in ShopRite……
This story is funny; however, I probably would have done the same thing. You just never know anymore. Glad she’s OK.
Maybe she had the things in her car from earlier on in the day.
To #11 and 12
I’m sure both posts are from the same person. In any case, I’m not quite sure which words #2 said that “bash” lcsw. Can you explain or you just have a chip on your shoulder(most likely a member)
If you can shop until one in the AM, I guess deliveries can also be made late at night, but, who wants to wait up for deliveries so late at night?

so i guess it would be ok if i lived on a quiet block and you decided to unload packages at a deserted time, to call the cops on you to investigate you?
Does anyone know how much the LCSW does for this town I hope you should never have to call them.I had a mexican in my back yard at 11:15 PM they were here in 1 minute with a team of guys no lights & sirens cleared and searched the whole area calmed down the neighbors they made a big kiddush hashem so please stop bashing the hands that help the community. Thank you LCSW
What’s your unit #? I have no doubts you’re full of baloney but as a side note; I haven’t noticed a single comment on this post “bashing” lcsw. So why don’t we all just shake hands?!!
There is nothing wrong with shopping at 11pm-1am!!! Firstly, for some of us, we like npgs and shoprite at those hours and yes, we try to be careful walking to and from our cars… I just laughd so hard from all the posts about the strangeness of shopping late! The stores are so peaceful, parking is easy, etc… Don’t make fun of us female owls out shopping!!! And I wouldve ran away too if a delivery guy pulled up riiight near me! Personal space exists with cars too-at least when its dark! I think the delivery boy needs to fine tune his social skills 🙂 and its normal to get deliveries late-the customer tells the store how late the delivery can arrive…
Actually 9:05pm is not full of baloney
905 105 is turkey pastrami
