The number of JCP&L customers in Lakewood without power dropped to approximately 5,000 this morning, but it could still take a while for those affected to get their electricity back, TLS has learned.
According to sources, damage was done to at least one substation, which could take many hours to repair.
Sources also say JCP&L is focusing more of their resources in Monmouth County, which was hit harder than Ocean County.
If you lost power, you should report it to JCP&L, even if your neighbor has already reported the outage. The more call volume reporting outages, the better.

Our elected officials, Coles, Lichtenstein ect need to step in and do a proper job being our liaison with Jcpl.

JCP&L removed my outage from their system. I had to report outage again. I suggest that everyone call. From the outage map, I see that only 1-20 people in my area shows outage, but thousands in the area don’t have power.
Ridge Area is still offline. Only shows 1-20 reported outages, although there are hundreds of homes without power. This morning they showed that there was no outages in the area, although it is down since 6:30PM yesterday.
