UPDATE: Nick Shimonovich Funeral Procession to make brief stop at LPD Headquarters Friday morning; Opportunity for Shabbos-observing community to attend

For those observing Shabbos and unable to attend the funeral at Blue Claws tomorrow, you will have an opportunity to pay respects to Officer Nick Shimonovich tomorrow morning.

On Friday, September 11,  the Lakewood Police Department will be escorting the funeral procession for Officer Nicklas Shimonovich through the downtown area between 10:15 am and 10:30 am. A moment of silence will take place in front of the police station located at 231 Third Street at approximately 10:30am.

Following the stop at headquarters, there will be a private viewing for family only prior to the police and public viewing.

The police and public viewing will take place from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, followed by the service on the Blue Claws field at 2:30 PM.

A police procession to the cemetery will begin at approximately 3:30 PM.

  1. This is sadly the 3rd Lakewood police officer to have been tragically taken from us, by my account in the last decade or so. Each of the circumstances were quite different but all 3 were dedicated police officers loved and admired by all of us in this town… We stand with the LPD!!

  2. For those that want to avoid the street closures or join in the procession, can we get a map of where the procession will start and end and areas affected?
