UPDATE: New Jersey Patient Cleared Of Coronavirus

A patient at Hackensack University Medical Center who was suspected of being ill will coronavirus has been cleared by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

The New Jersey Department of Health had said it was conducting tests to determine whether the patient was sick with coronavirus, which has sickened thousands across the globe and killed over 100. With tests coming back negative, New Jersey now has zero reported or suspected cases of coronavirus.

New Jersey Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker have been urging public health officials to implement more health precautions to keep the illness from spreading, including by beginning to screen incoming passengers at Newark Liberty International Airport.
