The Lakewood resident who was carjacked at gunpoint in Mississippi last week, thankfully has his Talis and Tefillin back.
The victim tells TLS police located the rental vehicle approximately a half hour away from where the incident occurred, and everything appeared to be intact – including his luggage, Talis and Tefillin and everything else he had in the car when it was carjacked.
Police impounded the vehicle, and then contacted the victim notifying him his items were located in the vehicle – which even had the keys inside.
It’s very refreshing to hear about truly ehrliche carjackers, every once in a while.
Left the vehicle clean, the property intact, and the keys in ignition. I hope that they also had the decency to fill the tank, and to leave an apology note …. with their names, addresses, phone numbers, and fingerprints.
Baruch Hashem that the victim got back the 2 most important items.
Baruch Hashem. The victim retrieved the 2 most important items.
2nd ?)This is a rental vehicle that the victim was driving
and was carjacked. The vehicle has been impounded. Is the renter still responsible for future rental charges while the vehicle is being impounded? Just wondering. A reply would be greatly appreciated. Kol Tuv to Klal Yisrael.
@Brooklyn Observer. No. The rental is terminated once the vehicle was reported as stolen..
To Eric. Thank you for your lightning fast response to my inquiry. – Brooklyn observer.
